![]() ![]() Retail for one of Ric's guitars now runs upwards of $7-$8k. This guitar sports a 70's Gibson humbucker T-Top pickup. 17" lower bout, 25.5" scale, 1 3/4" nut width, 3" body depth. Sitka spruce top, maple sides and back, black Brazilian rosewood fretboard, maple neck, abalone name, ebony bridge, ebony pick guard, ebony knobs, ebony tailpiece, ebony sound hole plugs. Ric builds guitars for the likes of Joe Beck and John Abercrombie. There is a nick on the headstock that is pictured. Has a lot of finish checking, and Ric reglued some binding that had come loose. Recently sent back to Ric for setup and fret dressing. It's Ric's modern update on traditional jazz archtops. ![]() This is one of the first archtops Ric built and according to him the 3rd Moderna. Ric McCurdy studied with Bob Benedetto and builds handmade archtop guitars in the tradition of D'Angelico, D'Aquisto and Benedetto. ![]()
